Recreation Programs

Hartselle Parks and Recreation strives to offer fun and diverse programs for all ages.  Currently, we are working on the following: 


 

Introduction to Archery Clinic – This clinic is for beginning archers ages 10 and older that are interested in learning the basics of archery.  The clinic will be March 28-30 from 9-11am in the back gym at Sparkman Civic Center.  The fee is only $25 per person.  All equipment is provided but participants are required to wear close-toed shoes.  Please register and pay no later than March 24.  Register early!! Space is limited. 


 

Community Games – Community Games is an event where companies, businesses, organizations, civic clubs and small groups compete against each other in a variety of fun and exciting events.  Teams of 12 compete for the title of Hartselle Community Champions.  Games will be played at various times between May 30 through June 24 and end with a closing ceremony/cook out for all participants.  Games vary in physical and intellectual abilities.  Each game does not require all team players.  Team registration is $400 and must be paid no later than May 15.  This is event is a great way to promote morale through teamwork while getting out and having fun!

Hometown Heroes – This event is fun for the entire family.  On June 20 from 9-11am, all of your hometown heroes will be at the soccer complex for a meet and greet.  You will also have a hands-on opportunity to see patrol cars, ambulances, fire trucks, bulldozers and more.  Hartselle Police Dept, Hartselle Fire Dept, Morgan County Sheriff’s Dept, Hartselle Public Works, Hartselle Utilities, Lifeguard Ambulance and Morgan County Rescue Squad will all be there to answer all questions you may have about what it takes to be a Hometown Hero.  This event is free but we do ask that you register no later than June 14.

Gross-Out Camp – This award-winning science program is presented by Fresh Air Family. This program teaches science in an outdoor setting.  Kids are having so much fun, they don’t realize they’re learning!! Don’t miss this chance for your children to enjoy this camp.  The fee is $325 per week.  Camp weeks are June 5-9 and July 17-21 from 9am-5pm. Before and after care are available for an additional fee.  Participants must register for this camp through Fresh Air Family at Freshairfamily.org 


 

Youth Baton Clinic - Girls entering first grade and higher are encouraged to register for this amazing chance to learn from the best of the best! Kim Robertson and daughter Paige Parker, both former Crimsonettes, instruct the basics of baton in the three-day clinic June 19-21 at 9AM.

   

Halloween Candy Drop – The Inaugural Candy Drop will be held on Saturday, Oct 28 on the baseball fields.  Kids ages 12 and under, bring your flashlights, pick up treats and fill your bags with candy!! More information on this event coming soon.
