Court Appearance Not Required
To settle certain tickets not requiring a court appearance, you may bring your ticket in person to the Court Clerk's window at the Hartselle Municipal Building. A plea of guilty may only be accepted by the Magistrate after the defendant has executed a notice and waiver of rights form. The fine and costs shall be paid in full at the time of the guilty plea.
You are required to appear in court for tickets not paid before the court date and time.
Accepted forms of payment made in person are cash, money order, cashier's check or credit card. Personal checks are not accepted.
To pay your ticket by mail, we must receive the signed notice and waiver of rights (located on the back of the ticket) and payment within the Municipal Court office at least 24 hours before your scheduled court date. Postmark dates will not be honored as meeting the deadline. Accepted forms of payment by mail are money order or cashier's check. Personal checks are not accepted.
The address for mailing your plea and payment is: Hartselle Municipal Court 611 Chestnut Street NW Hartselle, AL 35640
You may also pay using a credit card online or in person. A service fee by the payment provider will apply if you choose this method of payment.
See Fine/Costs Schedule (PDF) for a list of fines/costs that are payable without appearing in court. (Any offense in a construction zone requires a court appearance.)
If you choose to enter a plea of not guilty, you must appear in court on your scheduled court date.
