Beginning August 21st, the Hartselle Parks and Recreation Department will be removing decorative items around gravesites that do not comply with cemetery rules. This includes all flower arrangements and other decorative items that are not either located on an upright monument (saddle-style arrangement) or in vases attached to a monument base.
Compliance with cemetery rules ensures that city staff can provide the best maintenance possible around monuments, and that no items cause damage to mowing equipment.
Families are encouraged to remove any items that are not placed in accordance with cemetery rules on or before August 20, 2023. Items removed by city maintenance staff will be discarded.
