Pool Party Reservations- You may begin reserving the Aquatic Center for private parties on May 2 at 8am. For more pool party information and pricing call the Aquatic Center at 256-751-0665.
Hartselle AYSO Fall Soccer Registration- Registration will be held online at http://ayso.bluesombrero.com/region773 starting in May and ending on June 30. There will be walk up registration dates on June 4 and 18 from 10am-Noon and June 30 from 6-8pm. All walk up registration will be held at the soccer complex on Groover Road. The registration fee is $95. The fee includes a uniform. Boys and girls ages 4-18 are encouraged to register. The birthday cut off is August 1. SNAP Grand Opening- Please join the celebration of completion of Morgan County’s Million-Dollar Playground for ALL Children. The ceremony will be held on May 6 at 10am. Special guests include Special Needs Children representing all school systems within Morgan County. There will be several speakers and a ribbon cutting. There will be refreshments and a facility tour.
Swimming Lesson Registration- Registration will begin on May 9 from 8am-4pm at the aquatic center. After this date you can register at the civic center from 8am-4pm daily. The session dates are as follows: Session 1 June 6-17, Session 2 June 20-July1, Session 3 July 11-22, and Session 4 July 25-29. Session 4 will be a Mini Session and classes will be Monday-Friday for one week. Fees for sessions 1, 2 or 3 are $45 for ages 5 and under and $50 for ages 6 and older. Fees for session 4 will be $25 for ages 5 and under and $30 for ages 6 and older. The fees listed above are for each session. If you have any questions give us a call at 256-773-2581.
Hartselle Youth Football Registration- Boys ages 5-12 and boys ages 13 that weigh less than 95 pounds are encouraged to register for youth league football on May 10 from 6-8pm at the civic center to save $10 off registration!! You may also register on June 6, 13 & 20 from 6-8pm at the civic center. Registration fee is $80. There is a family discount available at a rate of $60 per child. The birthday cut off is August 31.
Hartselle Youth Football Cheerleaders- Girls ages 5-12 are encouraged to register for youth football cheerleading. You may register on May 10, June 6, 13 or 20 from 6-8pm at the civic center. The fee is $55. The birthday cut off is August 31.
May Painting Party- Join us on May 16 at 6pm for a fun-filled night of painting! The options this month include a hot air balloon, a camper or sunglasses. The fee is $15 per project and includes all supplies. You must register and pay no later than May 11. You may call 256-773-2581 to register if you plan to pay with a debit/credit card.
Senior Skip Day- Calling all area residents ages 55 and older!! Skip out on your responsibilities for a couple of hours and join us for shenanigans in the park. This event will be held at Sparkman Park Pavilion #4 on May 18 from 10am-Noon. We will have a corn hole tournament, horse shoe tournament, best dessert contest, “horse races” and much more! Lunch will be provided. This event is free but we ask that you register no later than May 16.
End of the School Year Dance- On Friday, May 27 from 7-10pm we are celebrating the end of the school year with a dance for boys and girls ages 10-14. The admission fee is $5 per person. Jammin’ Jeff will also have a photo booth for you to capture your memories. There is a $5 charge for the photo booth. Parents, we need chaperones!! If you would like to volunteer to chaperone please call the civic center office at 256-773-2581 to get your name on the list. If we do not have enough chaperones the dance will be canceled.
Hartselle Aquatic Center- On May 28 at 10am the Hartselle Aquatic Center will open for the 2016 season. The aquatic center will be open Monday-Saturday from 10am-8pm and Sunday from 1-6pm. The fee for admission is $10 for ages 13 and older, $8 for ages 6-12, $5 for ages 3-5, ages 2 and under is free. You may purchase season passes at the civic center until the aquatic center opens. Once the aquatic center opens you will purchase your passes at the aquatic center. Season passes are $100 for the first pass then $50 for each additional pass in your household. Water Aerobics- There is many advantages to water aerobics!! Unlike normal aerobics, water aerobics supports the body and reduces the risk of muscle and joint injury. Water aerobics is perfect for the young and old alike. Classes will meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 6:50-7:50am at the aquatic center beginning on June 7. The fee is $25 per month or $5 per visit. You may pre-register at the civic center prior to June 7. After that date you must register at the aquatic center before class.
Tumbling- Classes will be held on Monday nights from 4:30-6:30pm at the civic center. This class is open to ages 5 and older. The fee is $40 per month. You must register and pay in the civic center office prior to class on the first Monday of each month.
Martial Arts- JMK Martial Arts & Fitness is offering a wide-variety of activities for kids and adults during the summer of 2016! Charles Owens will be instructing classes on Monday nights from 6-9pm. Activities include introductory classes for beginners, belt rank boot camp, LADIES self defense courses, SPAR WARS, dodge ball, obstacle courses, board breaking, point sparring, grappling, stick techniques, pepper spray & personal safety, fitness boot camps and more! Summer Celebrations- Join us every Wednesday in June and July at 2:30pm at the SNAP Splash Pad behind the civic center. We will give out sno-cones to children ages 12 and under. This event is free and there is no need to register.
June Painting Party- On June 2 at 6pm we will be painting a bikini, a lemonade pitcher and a freedom truck door hanger. The fee is $15 per project and all supplies are included. You must register and pay no later than May 27. You may register over that phone by calling 256-773-2581 if you plan to pay with a debit/credit card
Daddy Daughter Date Night- Make memories to last a lifetime. Daughters bring your dear old dad out for a night of dinner and dancing. We have many wonderful things planned for the evening. The menu includes baked ham or chicken fingers, green beans, macaroni and cheese, rolls and an ice cream bar. Date night is June 17 from 6:30-8:30pm. A $10 per person fee must be paid no later than June 13. Space is limited so register early!
Spa Party- Manicures, pedicures and facials, too! A day of pampering just for you!! Spa day is planned for girls ages 8-10 on June 23. Appointments will begin at 10am. The fee is $10 per person and includes a snack and goodie bag. Please register and pay the fee no later than June 20.
Exploring Our Wetlands- On June 24 join the fun at Water Works, located just north of Hartselle in Highway 31, as we learn more about the world around us. Beginning at 9am you will learn in this hands on class about solar energy, water purification, living off the grid, honey bees, fishing and much more. After lunch everyone will take a canoe trip through Flint Creek to learn more about nature around us. This event is open to all ages; however, children under 8 years old must have a paying adult chaperone. The fee is $20 per person, which includes all supplies and lunch. Class is scheduled to end at 4pm. Please pay and register at the civic center by June 20. Transportation will NOT be provided.
Kids in the Kitchen- Kids, ages 9-12, will learn simple meal preparation and utensil recognition. We will prepare breakfast, dinner and dessert during this class. This class will be June 28. Ages 9-10 will be from 8-11am and ages 11-12 will be 1-4pm. If we do not have enough participants to split the age groups we will combine classes. The fee is $10 per person. Please register and pay no later than June 21.
Youth Fire Academy- Get to experience a day in the life of a real firefighter on June 30 from 9-11am. Hartselle Fire Department will be in Sparkman Park to share information with children ages 5-12. They will try on uniforms, explore the fire trucks and other fun fire fighter activities! This event is free but we ask that you register at the civic center no later than June 23. Those that register after June 23 will NOT receive an event t-shirt. Kids, be prepared to get wet!
Adult Softball Registration- Team registration will be the whole month of July. The fee is $450 per team. Games will begin in mid August. There will be a mandatory meeting on July 17 at 2pm at the civic center. If you have any questions give Heather a call at 256-773-2581. Boys to Men- With an increasing number of single mothers a lot of boys are missing out on what is considered to be “manly skills”. This class will be July 5-8 from 9-11am. During this 4 day class, boys ages 10-14 will learn basic automotive care, lawn care, basic power tool and tool information, personal bodily changes and camping/survival skills. This class is $10 per person. Upon completion of this class each guy will receive a one day pool pass to the Hartselle Aquatic Center. You must attend all 4 days to receive the pool pass. Scholarships are available for those with financial concerns.
July Painting Party- Join us on July 12 at 6pm for a fun-filled night of painting! The project options this month include a sail boat, a flamingo and a name plaque. The fee is $15 per project and includes all supplies. You must register and pay no later than July 7. You can register over the phone if you plan to pay with a credit/debit card by calling 256-773-2581.
Princess Party- Calling all Princesses!! We are having our annual princess party on July 14 from 11am-1pm. We will play games, make tiaras, play make up and have “tea” at noon. The party is for ages 5-7. Party goers are asked to wear their best gaudy princess attire. Please register and pay the $10 fee no later than July 7 to allow us proper time to plan this event.
Youth Police Academy- Hartselle’s finest will be at the civic center on July 21 from 9-11am to give children an idea of what really goes on behind the scenes. The police officers invite children ages 5-12 to look inside a patrol car and learn about other exciting police procedures. This event is free. Those that register on or before July 14 will receive a free event t-shirt. Those that register after July 14 will not receive a t-shirt.
Friday Free For All- Come experience the most disgusting fun you will have all summer! We will have water balloon fights, spaghetti fights, relay games and other fun activities. This event will be Friday, July 22 from 9a-11am at Sparkman Park Pavilion #4. This event is for ages 6-10. You must register and pay no later than July 18. Participants are encouraged to wear old clothes and goggles!!
Annual Luau- The annual Luau will be on July 22 from 8-10pm. DJ Krank E will be rocking the house! The fee is $5 per person even if you have a season pass. There will be a cannon ball contest, limbo competition and much more!! The concession stand will also be open. Call the aquatic center at 256-751-0665 if you have any questions.
Painting Palooza- Guys and gals, ages 10-14, don’t miss this chance to experience your artistic side. On August 4 at 2pm you will have the opportunity to create your very own sports themed door hanger. The fee is $15 per project and includes all supplies. You must register and pay no later than August 1.
August Painting Party- On August 4 at 6pm we will paint a cross sign, a piece of cotton, or a back to school apple. The fee is $15 per project and includes all supplies. Life! Be in it!- This program is designed for teenagers with special needs/developmental delays. This club will meet monthly beginning June 10 from 2-4pm. Participants will be encouraged to interact with their peers in a structured, safe environment. We will do arts and crafts, play games, learn life skills and many more fun and exciting things. There is no fee for this program but we ask that you register no later than June 6.
Camps and Clinics
Bowling Clinic- Roll on over, there is no time to spare! We are going bowling and we want you there! This clinic will be held at Family Lanes on Longhorn Pass in Hartselle. The clinic will be June 6-8 from 10am-Noon. The fee is $25 per child and includes lunch. Participants are asked to wear tennis shoes. You must register and pay at the civic center no later than June 1. This class will be taught by local certified bowling instructors.
Science Camp- Kids, grades 1-4, join Mrs. Barb Helton on June 6&7 from 9-11am at the civic center and learn just how fun science can be! Mrs. Helton is a science teacher at Crestline Elementary School. Parents, your child will participate in hands-on activities and experiments that are sure to keep your child interested in the world around them. The fee for this two day camp is $40 per child. You must register and pay no later than June 1. Be sure to register early, space is limited!!
Archery Clinic- Beginners archery will be taught in the back gym at the civic center on June 13&14 from 9am-Noon. In this class students will learn the basics of this sport. It is open to kids ages 10-15. The fee is $20 which will includes all supplies. This camp is in conjunction with the Alabama 4H Extension.
Youth Basketball Clinic- Hartselle Boy’s Youth Basketball League will host a basketball clinic June 15&16 from 9am-Noon at the civic center. Boys and girls ages 6-14 are encouraged to attend. There will be game training, tournaments and lots of fun! A snack will be provided both days. The fee is $30. You must register and pay at the civic center no later than June 10.
Baton Clinic- Kim Ellis Roberson will be instructing girl entering grades K-7 the basics of twirling, basic strut and a dance twirl routine during this class. Kim is listed in the Who’s Who in baton twirling. She is a former NBTA champion with over 100 twirling awards. Give your daughter the opportunity to learn from her July 11-13 from 9-11am. The fee is $45 per child. The fee includes a t-shirt. You must register and pay at the civic center no later than July 7.
AYSO British Soccer Camp- This camp will be July 25-29 at the soccer complex on Groover Road. The camp is open to boys and girls age 5-16. Certified professional coaches will teach your child valuable skills in a fun environment. You can choose to attend from 9am-Noon (ages 5-16) for $110 or from 9am-3pm (ages 8-16) for $155. Birthday Bash- Tired of spending hours, days or even weeks planning your child’s birthday party? For only $100 we will do all of the work for you! The fee includes: party room at the civic center, themed invitations, party favors, games, plates, cups, napkins, eating utensils and two party coordinators. All you need to supply is a cake and refreshments. The fee is good for up to 12 children ages 5 and older. Additional children will be $5 each. Parties may be held Monday-Friday 6-8pm or Saturday 10am-Noon. NO SUNDAY PARTIES!
