Guide for Visitors

Hartselle is a community of about 14,000. Hartselle and the surrounding area is a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. We have friendly people, a top rated school system, low crime rate, health care services, lots of antique and specialty shops and other necessary amenities.

Our community is geared around its children. We have many activities at our Civic Center including a pool, basketball courts, baseball diamonds and tennis courts. We are within 20 minutes of fresh water fishing/sports on the Tennessee River.

The Depot Days Festival, held in September each year, celebrates the town’s railroad heritage. There’s a 5K and Fun Run, Arts and Crafts Show, Car Show, Health Fair and Pet Fair, Silent Auction, Children’s Games, Storytelling, Musical Entertainment, Food and plenty of family fun.

Holidays in Hartselle are special too. October brings the Halloween Carnival; and in November, open houses hosted by merchants begin the ‘Hartselle for the Holidays” activities, plus the community wide Thanksgiving Service. In December, Santa makes his official appearance during the Christmas Parade and residents graciously open their doors for the Clean City Association “Tour of Homes”.

Throughout the year, there are banquets, neighborhood block parties, school festivals, school choral and band concerts, as well as lots of regularly scheduled activities at the Civic Center.

Our immediate area also holds a national forest, a national wildlife refuge, fishing challenges of all sorts and boating and water recreation activities of any description.
